- Marquis is a non-profit, created in Brandon-Southwestern Manitoba 37 years ago, with the goals of “Global Thoughts – Local Actions” – educating people here about global issues and helping make a difference in developing countries.
- Marquis has three main focuses – a very active educational program in Brandon-Westman schools; support for development assistance projects overseas, especially in recent years in Tanzania, East Africa; and education about and promotion of fair trade products in our local stores and restaurants.
- Marquis’ finances are currently in good shape but our Board wants to ensure that the organization is sustainable well into the future. Therefore, we are asking our members and friends to make a monthly donation to the organization which is easy to do, easy to end if that is ever an issue, and can be for as little as $5 per month.
- Our Marquis Goal for this donation campaign is to increase our monthly donations by $350 which will ensure we can meet basic monthly costs for the organization and our very modest office space.
*Your membership fees and donation to the Marquis Project support a local organization working for a better world. Our work is both local and global and you have direct, on-the-ground access to the organization and its activities.
